This policy explains how RustMatch ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you use our website at rustmatch.com and app.rustmatch.com, and the RustMatch apps for iPhone and Android (together, the "Service"). RustMatch is run by Logan Murphy from Scotland, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for your personal data. You can contact us at hello@rustmatch.com.
We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, under appropriate contracts:
Some providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent. We do not sell your personal data.
If you allow notifications, the app stores a push token for each device so it can tell you about new matches, messages, likes and clan activity. Notifications pass through Expo and then Apple Push Notification service (iPhone) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). A message notification shows the start of the message. You can turn each type off in the app's Settings, or turn them all off in your phone's settings. Tokens are deleted when you log out of the app or delete your account.
On the website we use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the Service (for example, to keep you signed in). With your consent, we may also use analytics and advertising measurement cookies. You can manage non-essential cookies through the consent options on the website.
The iPhone and Android apps use no cookies, no advertising and no analytics or tracking. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account, your profile is hidden from other players straight away. Your account and personal data, including your photos, messages and push tokens, are permanently deleted within 30 days, and we ask RevenueCat to delete its record of you. If you log in before then, you can choose to keep your account. See how to delete your account.
Some information is kept after deletion:
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact hello@rustmatch.com. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or on the website. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
You must be 16 or over to use RustMatch. We take extra care with players aged 16 and 17: they are never shown to players aged 30 and over, and the other way round. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Read our Child Safety Standards.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
